The different parts of wind turbines will soon funnel into the Municipality of Chester. The towers will be delivered from Trenton where they were built. Other parts like the blades and hubs were built in Spain and China and will be delivered from the Port of Liverpool. Community Relations Manager, Mary-Frances Lynch, says safety is top priority. She says, “Since the components are going to be large, they’re going to be moving a lot slower than the speed limit, which could mean there will be some travel delays but ultimately we just want to make sure that drivers are as safe as possible.” All materials will travel along Highway 12 onto Lake Lawson Road to the New Russell Road and then the site. Lynch says it’s exciting news to have the turbines coming to the site and hopes to have the project complete as soon as possible. There is expected to be 20 to 30 truckloads per week.
