Loss Of Daffodils ‘Disappointing’ For NS Cancer Society

A significant fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society of Nova Scotia has been hit with disappointing news.

April is Daffodil Month; However, 33,000 flowers were damaged in transportation from B.C.

The daffodils are sold in the annual campaign, which usually brings in more than $300,000.

Vice-President of annual development, Barbara Stead-Coyle, says it’s a huge blow.

“It certainly is going to impact our ability to deliver all of the services that we deliver to Nova Scotians.”

Stead-Coyle says the society tried to find another distributor but none of the flowers were available.

She hopes people who pre-ordered flowers will donate money instead by visiting here.
