Coast Guard Involved In Rescue Off Yarmouth

A fishing vessel is receiving help from the Canadian Coast Guard after taking on water off the coast of Yarmouth.

A tweet from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax said the vessel was found just over 30 nautical miles northwest of Yarmouth.

The Coast Guard ship Westport is towing the boat back to shore.

A water pump has also been provided.

Another tweet said a Cormorant helicopter, Hercules aircraft and tanker were dispatched to the scene.

Two people are believed to be on board.

It’s not known if there are any injuries.
