The puck drops Thursday at the Bantam ‘AA’ Female Atlantic Hockey Championship in Liverpool.
This is the first season for the host Western Riptide.
Head Coach Jeremy Kini says they have been competitive all season but lost a majority of their games.
He adds, the tournament should provide a great experience to players.
“To see and compete against these teams will be a wonderful education for these girls to carry forward to see what it takes and what level you need to be at to be a competitive program.”
Teams are participating from each Atlantic province.
The Riptide play their first game against PEI Thursday night at 7 at Queens Place Emera Centre.
