Seed Library Launching Next Week

Books, movies, and now vegetables.

Volunteers at the Library in Bridgewater are preparing to re-launch the seed library.

Coordinator Chris Sanford says people can take a packet of seeds, grow the vegetables, save the seeds and return some back to the library.

She says she wants to help people be more aware of where their food comes from.

“There are a lot of global issues going on the world today,” she says. “The more local our food supply can be the more resilient our community and Nova Scotia can be for future generations.”

Sanford says last year’s trial run was very popular but they’ve revamped the program to make it more efficient.

Seeds will be available starting on April 14th.
