Bruce Springsteen Cancels Concert To Protest North Carolina ‘Bathroom Bill’

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street band have cancelled their concert tomorrow in Greensboro, North Carolina to show support for people protesting the state’s recently passed “bathroom law”, or HB2 law, which requires transgender people to only use bathrooms that correspond with their sex at birth.

Springsteen released a statement on his twitter account, saying the law also “attacks the rights of LGBT citizens to sue when their human rights are violated in the workplace”.

He says “no other group of North Carolinians faces such a burden”.

Springsteen says “some things are more important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry is one of them”.

He says cancelling his concert was the strongest means he has for raising his voice in opposition to those who continue to push backwards instead of forwards.
