Back To Work For Live/Work Task Force

It’s back to work for the Town of Lunenburg’s Live Work Task force.

Town council recommended the group re-assemble now that the province has proposed changes to the building code for home-based businesses.

Mayor Rachel Bailey says, it’s time to take a look at the changes and how they affect the municipality’s land-use by-law.

“From the Task Force perspective, as does that [proposed changes] positively, negatively have some impact on what our land-use by-law says,” said Bailey.

Bailey says the Live/Work Task Force was formed to address public outcry claiming the Town did not support home-based businesses.

“The Task force seemed to be spinning its wheels a lot. And the conversation, although had started off with good intentions about looking at our land-use by-law, ended up coming back asking questions related to the building code.” said an exasperated Bailey.

When discussion kept reverting back to the building code restrictions, the group suspended meetings.
