Lunenburg Spending Thousands To Market Itself

The Town of Lunenburg’s visitors guide will cost taxpayers $2,000.

Council voted to invest in the brochure promoting the town, despite another $10,000 in the draft budget allocated to the Board of Trade for similar promotion.

Mayor Rachel Bailey says despite what appears to be duplication, council feels the visitors guide is money well-spent.

“It does seem to be the goal of this particular publication is to basically promote the community as a whole and all the amenities that the town has to offer.”

The $2,000 will pay for 30,000 copies of the visitors guide, which will also be available online.

Bailey says the draft budget is still under review and there will be more discussion over the $10,000 earmarked for the Board of Trade.
