Region Of Queens Providing Grants To 16 Community Groups

Sixteen community groups have received grants from the Region of Queens.

Municipal council agreed to spend $46,500 for recreational programs and services.

More than $130,000 in requests were received.

Privateer Days will get $10,000 and the Hank Snow Country Music Centre secured $6,000, as did the Queens County Fair Association.

Other grants over $3,000 were also given to the Greenfield Recreation Society, Liverpool International Theatre Festival, The Rossignol Cultural Centre and the South Queens Chamber of Commerce for Christmas on the Mersey.

Alexander McDonald Heritage Society – $0

Hank Snow Country Music Centre – $6,000

Liverpool Baseball Club – $0

Liverpool International Theatre Festival – $4,000

Medway Head Lighthouse Society – $0

Mersey Band Society – $1,000

Milton Community Association – $500

Milton Heritage Association – $750

North Queens Board of Trade (Fireworks) – $1,000

North Queens Board of Trade (Farmer’s Market) – $500

North Queens Heritage Society – $750

Privateer Days – $10,000

Privateer Farmers Market – $500

Queens Community Aquatic Society – $0

Queens County Fair Association – $6,000

Queens County Community Choir – $0

Queens County Crime Prevention Association – $2,000

Queens Learning Network – $0

Queens County Museum – $0

Queens County Music Festival – $1,000

Queens Manor (Chair Yoga) – $0

Seahawks Minor Football Club – $0

South Queens Chamber of Commerce (Christmas on the Mersey) – $3,000
