Salvation Army Still Needs Support This Christmas

A little better than halfway through their annual Christmas Kettle campaign, the Bridgewater Salvation Army is just below where they had hoped to be.

Major Wilson Sutton says they’re aiming to raise $65,000 dollars.

And with less than two weeks left, they’ve raised slightly more than half that amount.

Sutton says the Salvation Army helps people when they’re most in need.

“We’re here year round. Helping people needing groceries, helping people, sometimes with heating in their homes, medical, prescriptions sort of things like that. transportation to doctors.”

Sutton says they’re looking for volunteers to help staff the kettles.

He says it’s only a two hour commitment that can really help the community.

To volunteer, call Major Sutton at the Salvation Army office 902-543-0356.
