The Liverpool Privateers will face off with an all star line up tonight in the name of charity.
Bruce Inglis Financial has gathered local players and even a few coaches to take on the Junior B team at Queens Place Emera Centre.
It’s all in good fun to raise money for birthday gifts for children in need from ages 4 to 10.
“The program will be a winner because I think we’re going to do quite well and we’ve got some nice silent auction stuff, we just got another $250 donation from the Quarterdeck, Nick Lenco has donated $300, so those things add up,” says Inglis.
The Kiwanis Club and Queens County Food Bank are handing out the gifts as a part of a new partnership that started in November.
“So the food bank puts in things like candy, juice boxes, Goldfish for the birthday and then what we’re doing now is Lego sets.”
Inglis says they’ve identified around 70 children in that age group that need the service in 2018.
The kids will all be given age-appropriate Lego sets.
The game starts at 6 p.m.
