Drivers Are Good To Go Following Storm Clean Up

Roads across the region are returning to normal following the storm

Glen Strang, Area Manager with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal says crews have been out salting all morning and the streets are in good shape.

However, he says drivers still need to use caution.

“Especially down along the coastal areas. If there’s debris on the road we’ve been getting a lot of that off with graders.”

Strang says roads can still be slippery as the temperatures start to drop.

“Most of the paved roads are in pretty good shape right now. There is still some slippery sections that the guys are working on up in the northern part of Lunenburg and Queens counties. But for the most part, pretty good going.”

He wants people to pay particular attention when driving near shorelines where the shoulders may be eroded.

Strang expects those areas will be repaired over the coming weeks.
