Canadian consumers don’t appear very confident these days. According to the Conference Board of Canada, its Confidence Index is continuing to head downward.
It fell almost 4 percentage points in October. The Board’s Senior Economist .. Todd Crawford .. says there’s no big surprise that confidence among Atlantic Canadians declined even more. He tells us: “When you mix in the general uneasiness of the global economic recovery at this point, I don’t think its a big surprise to see the numbers we’ve seen over the last number of months.” Four of the five regions of Canada registered what are described as significant drops. Ontario was the only province to stay flat .. it didn’t rise or fall!
