Adopt-A-Highway Program Set To Start In Nova Scotia

Local volunteers are preparing to get dirty as the Adopt-A-Highway program enters its 19th year.

The first clean-up is expected to start this weekend.

Last year, over 2,000 people volunteered in Nova Scotia.

Project coordinator Gina Bain expects that number to rise, especially in the South Shore.

“The Hebbville depot has the highest number of Adopt-A-Highway groups in the province, associated with that depot.”

Bain says it’s a simple way to do something good for the environment.

She adds those who wish to volunteer for the program can call the Adopt-A-Highway head office.
