The Nova Scotia government is helping victims of the fire emergency in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

The Canadian Red Cross is also accepting donations through phone, text message or online.

Premier Stephen McNeil says people across our province are concerned about the thousands who had to evacuate.

He says the province is ready to provide firefighters and other resources to Alberta, if requested.
