Barrington: Municipality, RCMP Holding Meet and Greet

The new CAO in Barrington and local RCMP are meeting members of the community.

The get together is being co-hosted by the municipality and the police detachment.

It is scheduled during National Police Week.

Warden Eddie Nickerson says it’s a great opportunity.

“Maybe there is some younger people that are intimidated by the RCMP and it gives them a chance to come out and meet them and talk to them and see that they’re just normal people like you and I.”

Nickerson says police officers serve to protect the community and people should get to know them.

People can also meet the municipality’s new chief administrative officer, Rob Frost, after changing from a municipal clerk system.

The meet and greet is scheduled for May 19 from 6 -8 p.m at the Visitor Information Centre in Barrington.
