PACE Program Will Allow Homeowners To Receive Energy Upgrades

A new environmental program for homeowners is coming to Bridgewater.

The PACE program will allow people to create energy efficiency in their homes, and have it financed by the town.

The financing will be tied to the property, and not the owner.

Bridgewater Sustainability Planner Leon DeVreede says this will help those who are interested in using greener energy.

“In Rural Nova Scotia especially, we don’t see very much uptake of some of these opportunities,” he says. “A program like this will really help a lot of people get over the hump to make the investment in their property.”

Upgrades could include insulation, heating pumps, and solar panels.

DeVreede says homeowners can inquire about participation in the program in the coming weeks.
