Candidates Preparing For Provincial Election

Party signs are sprouting up and the door knocking has begun across the South Shore.

Candidates are preparing for the May 30 election.

The race in Chester – St. Margaret’s will feature Denise Peterson-Rafuse of the NDP, Harold MacKay of the Liberals and Julie Chaisson of the PC.

Liberal Suzanne Lohnes-Croft is reoffering in the Lunenburg riding against Marc Breaugh of the NDP and the PC’s Brian Pickings.

In Lunenburg West, Liberal Mark Furey is against PC candidate Carole Hipwell and Lisa Norman of the NDP.

For Queens-Shelburne, John Davis is running for the New Democrats against the Liberals Vernon Oickle and the PC’s Kim Masland.

For Argyle-Barrington, it’s PC Chris d’Entremont versus Louis d’Entremont of the Liberals and the NDP’s Greg Foster.

In Yarmouth, Liberal Zach Churchill will try and hold his seat against Progressive Conservative candidate Mitch Bonnar and the NDP’s David Ollie.

When the legislature dissolved, the Liberals held 34 seats, the PC had 10, NDP had 5, there was one independent and one vacant.
