A Lunenburg man calls it a huge honour.
William Gerhardt started out in his late teens learning how to be a greens person by a woman from England.
The now 44 year-old has been nominated for the Screen Nova Scotia film crew excellence award.
Gerhardt is responsible for gathering plants, trees, flowers, and landscaping materials like rocks, gravel and sand for sets.
He says there are challenging moments like dealing with Nova Scotia weather.
“I worked on a film set recently that in April they hoped for good weather and got snow and in February they wanted snow and got the opposite.”
Gerhardt will be in Halifax tonight attending the awards gala at Casino Nova Scotia.
He is vying for the award against three other people.
