A Chester curling team is looking forward to returning to the national stage. Mary Fay, Jennifer Smith, Karlee Burgess and Janique LeBlanc will represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. The team finished third at last year’s nationals in Liverpool. Fay says it’s an experience they can draw on. She says, “The experience gained has really taught us a lot about what it takes to compete at that level. We have definitely come out stronger this year I’d say, we’re more consistent and we’re going to know what to expect for nationals, so that’s a good advantage.” They compete at the national junior curling event from January 24 to February 1.
