Bikes Still Available 4 Kids From United Way

The deadline is closing in for kids to get a free bike.

The United Way’s Bike 4 kids program accepts used bikes from the community and volunteers work to get them back in running order to give to kids in need.

Bikes are still available according to Pro Kids Administrator Janice Rand.

“If your kids aren’t too picky and if you’re a family in need, we would love to see these bikes get out on the trails and roads this summer. So people can call their local recreation department to enquire about the available bikes.”

Pro Kids administrator Janice Rand says the process is easy.

“They do need to book their bike in advance with us. So that’s why they need to call the recreation department to select the bike. Because we don’t want kids showing up there on Thursday night and being disappointed. They have to kind of reserve their bike from our website.”

Once they find the one they want online, parents need to call their nearest recreation department to hold them.

The bikes will be handed out at 8:00pm Thursday June 8 at the Bridgewater Mall.
