Relay Time Again

It’s being billed as a night of fun, friendship, and fighting back against cancer.

The 2017 Relay For Life is happening tonight at the Exhibition Grounds in Bridgewater.

Lead Chair Jill Thorburne says even if you’re not on a team you can still show up and join in.

“We’re really excited and we’re really hoping to get a really big turn out,” she says. “The more the merrier.”

Fourteen-year-old Conner Benoit is this year’s ambassador.

“I was diagnosed with a cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma, and it was a tumor behind my eye and my brain. I was diagnosed and started chemo at 18-months in 2004.”

Benoit is 12 years cancer free and says he’s been participating in the relay for life since 2010.

Money raised will go to support cancer survivors and their families along with funding research.

The event starts at 7 p.m.
