A new non-profit group in Bridgewater is aiming to empower abuse survivors through collaboration.
‘The Power in our Voices,’ hosted by the Be The Peace Institute, will feature talks from justice workers like lawyers and judges.
Victims of intimate violence will also tell their stories.
Executive Director Sue Bookchin says victims have a role to play in the justice system.
“How can people be honest, and how can we bring these issues into the light and make what is often invisible, visible, without blame and without judgment,” she says.
She says both sides have a lot to teach and learn from each other.
The event takes place on June 1st at Bridgewater Best Western.
