A proposed study on amalgamation in Lunenburg County will be up for discussion during a joint meeting tomorrow night.
The Towns of Bridgewater, Mahone Bay, and Lunenburg along with the Municipalities of Lunenburg and Chester have all agreed to get together.
Warden Allen Webber says while the Municipality of Chester isn’t interested in amalgamation, they’re happy to discuss something less extreme.
“If it branches off into discussions about ‘maybe we don’t want to quite go there, but we would like to talk about regionalization services’ that, I guess would be an outcome I would be happy with.”
Discussions stalled a few months ago prompting the gathering which takes place in Lunenburg.
The goal of the meeting is to make sure everyone is hearing the same information at the same time
