Park View Athlete Prepares For Fourth Track And Field Championship

A Park View athlete has his sights set on his fourth provincial track and field championship.

Grade 12 student Mikey Mosher will compete in five events including hurdles, the 200 metre sprint and team relays.

He says he’s focused on helping the team win a provincial banner.

“Like our coach Dean McDow said ‘There is no individual names on these banners. It’s collectively all of the students that make these banners up.’ “

Many schools throughout the South Shore will be represented at the track and field provincials.

Mosher says he started track because of family inspiration.

“I got to grade seven and wanted to follow my big brothers footsteps, I guess. I joined the track team and never really looked back, it’s been a lot of fun.”

Both junior high and high school students will compete this Friday and Saturday in Stellarton.
