Relay For Life Kicks Off

The Relay for Life in Bridgewater will have people hitting the track tonight.

Organizer Lori MacLean says people will be excited to learn that the event is moving back outside.

Around 400 people are expected to gather on Kinsmen field.

“When you see the survivors,” she says, “and you see that sea of yellow…I get chills…It’s so overwhelming to see how many people right here in our own community are effected by this.”

Around 100 survivors have registered to walk alongside people from the community.

The event will raise money to support people going through cancer treatment.

However MacLean says it’s more than a fundraiser.

“It’s a celebration night. It’s a night that we can reflect, we can bond together, we can feel that there’s support, there’s hope.”

The relay gets started at 7 o’clock and will run until 1 a.m.
