Nova Scotia Recognizes ‘Stand Up Against Bullying Day’

You could see a lot pink roaming the halls today at schools across Nova Scotia.

Students are encouraged to wear the colour to mark ‘Stand Up Against Bullying’ day.

It started back in 2007 after two Nova Scotia students organized a school protest.

They told people to wear pink after one of their classmates was bullied for wearing a pink shirt.

Schools across the province celebrate the second Thursday in September as Stand Up Against Bullying Day each year.

According to bullying.org, a student is bullied every seven minutes in Canada.
