Bridgewater: Town Hall To Close Over Christmas Holiday

Bridgewater has decided to close town hall for the holiday season.

Council voted 4-3 in favour of shutting down operations from noon on Christmas Eve until January 4.

Councillor Jennifer McDonald feels town hall should be open to serve the community.

“I think people expect there to be someone in the building, even if it’s one person answering a phone and forwarding phone calls, troubleshooting and dealing with issues. I don’t believe it needs to be a full staff.”

MacDonald hopes information will be posted on town hall doors and social media, so people know who to contact.

Deputy Mayor Bill McInnis and Councillor Sandra Mailman also voted against the idea.
