The province’s Serious Incident Response Team is investigating Lunenburg District RCMP after a man was injured during an arrest.
Police were called to a home in Pleasantville last Saturday after a man was threatening to harm himself with a knife.
The 44 year-old man was physically and verbally aggressive towards two police officers.
He attempted to assault the officers during arrest when a taser was used to subdue him.
The man was taken to hospital for a mental health assessment and later returned to his home by police.
The man was speaking to RCMP on Monday and said he suffered a bone fracture in his arm as a result of falling after being tasered.
Police reported the incident to SiRT on Tuesday.
The Serious Incident Response Team is responsible for investigating all serious incidents involving police in Nova Scotia, whether or not there is an allegation of wrongdoing.
