Thousands are in the dark in Lunenburg County.
Nova Scotia Power is reporting outages effecting about 1,600 homes and businesses from Conquerall Bank down Highway 331 to Broad Cove.
Another 1,400 customers in the New Germany area including Barss Corner, Stanburne, Parkdale, Maplewood and East Dalhousie are without power.
The cause is under investigation.
It’s not known if rain and wind played a factor.
Smaller outages have also been reported in Liverpool and Middlewood.
Nova Scotia Power expects to have all outages restored by 3:45 p.m.
