Society Creates Tartan Recognizing Municipality Of Barrington

The Municipality of Barrington is close to getting its own tartan.

A pair of staff members at the Cape Sable Historical Society created the cloth.

There are seven different colors that recognize fishermen, lighthouses, lumberjacks and beaches.

Warden Eddie Nickerson says it’s a great initiative.

“It’s a great idea that was supported whole-heartedly by council and it’s something where we can be identified by a tartan now.”

Council is expected to give final approval next week.

It would be called the ‘Municipality of Barrington Tartan.’
