The windstorms that knocked power out over Christmas played Grinch at Bridgewater Elementary School.
A shed that had been used to store playground toys was was destroyed when it was picked up and blown over the fence.
The school is already without a playground after the ship structure had to be dismantled over safety concerns this summer.
Principal Lindsay Willow says the toys are a stop gap measure.
“We would really like to see a shed on the Primary/One side so that we could store skipping ropes, blocks, things that kids can pull out during recess and lunch which would make their hands busier with items versus having nothing to engage with.”
Willow is hoping someone in the community may have a wooden shed they can donate or can help to construct a new one.
She asks anyone who may be able to help to contact the school at (902) 541-8240.
