$75,000 Aims To Improve Sexual Assault Victims’ Access To Service

Provincial funding will help improve services for victims of sexual violence.

The Nova Scotia government announced 75-thousand dollars for services Lunenburg Queens.

Provincial Specialist, Sarah Granke says support networks made up of community members, local service providers and organizations will help determine how the money is spent.

Granke said, “All the folks will be getting together to work on an action plan and to decide on how best to spend the money. They will be making the decisions together.”

Granke adds the focus will be on raising awareness of services available to local victims.

The government announced almost 1-million dollars will be going to improve coordination of services in nine communities across the province.
