UPDATE: Shelburne Treaty Day Celebrations Postponed

The town of Shelburne will have to wait for another day to celebrate Treaty Day.

A flag raising ceremony was expected to happen on Thursday.

However, the weather forecast has caused the event to be postponed.

It was planned to recognize the Acadia First Nations and raise a flag in the town centre.

A make-up date will be announced in the near future.

Treaty Day was proclaimed in 1993 by then Premier John Savage and Mi’kmaq Grand Chief Ben Sylliboy and promotes culture and heritage.
