Shell Canada’s proposed 21-day timeline to cap offshore drilling blowouts will meet some opposition this weekend.
The Shelburne waterfront will be busy with activists who are against the idea.
The federal environment minister approved the company’s offshore drilling plan in Shelburne Basin.
Many groups have stated a 21-day time frame could be devastating to the local fishery.
The decision still has to be approved by the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board.
A planned protest is scheduled for Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m.
