Bridgewater Mayor: “Town Is Open For Business”

Bridgewater’s mayor says the town is open for business.

David Walker opened the Showcase Bridgewater event today focusing on what the town has to offer.

Walker points to the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Center, Generations Active Park and the new downtown plan as ways to attract people.

“Our goal is to continue to follow initiatives that will make us competitive with the rest of Nova Scotia and the world so that when someone is looking to establishing a business, Bridgewater is going to be high on their list and they’re going to look and say ‘Is that a community that will work for me?’ We are not going to be the community for everybody but we believe we’re the community for a lot of people out there.”

Walker says their location, roughly an hour outside Halifax, is also a benefit.

Bridgewater’s population has grown by almost 12 per cent since 2001.
