There are very few places better to visit in Canada than Lunenburg.
That’s the result of a USA Today poll asking people to vote on the top ten destinations in Canada.
Kathleen Quinlan with the Lunenburg Board of Trade says getting the town on the list is part of an effort to increase Lunenburg’s profile.
“Upping our profile on social media through our Facebook page, creating hashtags, and of course identifying and reaching out to travel writers and bloggers when we did posts.”
Quinlan says travellers are very savvy, and the board wants to give them every reason to come to Lunenburg.
“They’re very careful with their dollar. So what we need to do is, when we get on these lists, these are the people that are really researching, to see, if I go there, what kind of experience can I have.”
Lunenburg was the only place to make the final ten in Nova Scotia, finishing in third place.
St.Andrews New Brunswick was voted the top destination to see in Canada.
