Ontario Man, Woman Arrested After Multiple Vehicle Thefts in Nova Scotia

Two people from Ontario have been arrested after multiple thefts in Nova Scotia including locally in Liverpool, New Germany, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg and Chester.

RCMP and the Bridgewater Police Service arrested 37-year-old Cory Lee Oickle and 27-year-old Taylor Erin Burgess, both of Windsor, on June 22.

The pair have been linked to stealing vehicles and stealing items from unlocked vehicles.

At the time of their arrests, they were driving a 2015 Toyota Highlander SUV stolen from Guysborough.

Other incidents allegedly occurred in Tantallon, Stellarton and Antigonish.

Oickle is charged with five counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of uttering threats, one count of assault and two counts of breach of recognizance.

Burgess is charged with three counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of assault and one count of breach of recognizance.

Further charges are pending.

The two have been remanded into custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on Wednesday.
