The issue of rural school closures will be front and center later this month.
The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg will hold two community consultations to discuss how they can support communities facing closures.
They will be held at the LaHave Fire Hall on July 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and at the West Northfield Fire Hall on July 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
There will also be short presentations from community groups.
Pentz and Petite Riviere Elementary schools are both scheduled to close on July 31, 2018.
But, that decision is subject to a judicial review on September 7.
Riverport and District Elementary School closed in 2011 and Centre Consolidated School shut its doors in 2012.
Both former schools are still owned by the municipality.
