The wait is finally over for a dog park in Bridgewater.
A grand opening is planned this evening for the South Shore Vet Dog Zone.
The park has been in the works since fundraising started in 2014.
The park was scheduled to open last year but it was discovered that some of the soil purchased by the town was contaminated and had to be removed.
That’s all been cleaned up and a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. at Generations Active Park on Glen Allan Drive.
