Bridgewater’s Transit buses will keep rolling.
An initial six-month trial period was set to end in March.
Lunenburg West MLA Mark Furey was at the LCLC Monday morning to announce the province will invest $200,000 in the service.
He credits the initiative shown by Mayor David Mitchell and council to launch the program with demonstrating how much the service could improve the lives of many town residents.
“Really, it was a joint effort, a team effort to support a public transit service in the town of Bridgewater.”
Furey called the money an important investment in the Town of Bridgewater and in public transit.

Mayor David Mitchell is excited to see the buses continue.
He says residents constantly tell him what it means to be able to move around the town.
“These are very personal stories, and the more you hear them, you can’t help but just be passionate about transit and realize the impact it has on your community.”
Mitchell says access to a bus is valuable to those who don’t own a car.
And he says the money guarantees the service will continue for the next two years.
