RCMP now say a 32-year-old man was injured following a shooting incident last night in Yarmouth.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says officers with the Town RCMP detachment responded to a 911 call on Regent Street of people smashing a parked vehicle.
“The caller actually heard some gunshots, or what they though were gunshots. We did patrol the area immediately. The suspect vehicle was identified as a red pick up truck. We did notice a red pick up truck in the area but it sped off when we tried to stop it.’
Clarke says the red truck and its driver have not been located.
One man was arrested near Regent Street on a wooded trail.
A second man fled the area on foot.
Corporal. Clarke says the injured man sustained non life-threatening injuries.
Yarmouth Rural RCMP is investigating this incident and is asking anyone who has information about the identity of the occupants of the red truck to call them at 902-742-9106, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
