Lunenburg’s Live/Work Task Force Shuns Hat Junkie

Lunenburg’s Hat Junkie won’t be part of the town’s Live/Work Task Force.

The idea to form the committee came after council heard from hatmaker Anna Shoub back in May when she was told by the building inspector she’d need costly upgrades to operate her business out of her home.

Mayor Rachel Bailey says the group will discuss the building code and permits but has no plans to talk about Shoub’s specific situation.

“We’ve heard that one over and over, loud and clear and it’s not something we need to hear again, ” said mayor Bailey.

The town received ten applications and chose 5 people to be part of the task force.

Will Brooks, Gladys Collicutt, Jessika Hepburn, Susan Hudson and Jamie Myra have all been chosen to part of the committee. They had their first meeting Monday, October 19th.

Two councillors Tom Barclay and John McGee are also part of the group.

The Live/Work task force will meet again November 9th.
