More help is on the way for the family of Connor Hirtle.
A benefit concert with J.P Cormier helped raise $6,096.50.
More than 250 people turned out for the event at the Best Western Plus in Cookville.
Organizer Gary Lohnes says he’s thankful for everyone’s support.
“What a good feeling standing in the back of the room and watching the applause, the emotions of people. Everyone is aware of it and they know it’s a tough battle but they are willing to support him.”
Hirtle continues to go through rehabilitation after he was left paralyzed following a swimming accident in PEI in July.
Lohnes says the 21 year-old from Bridgewater is progressing slowly but the family has many costs to cover.
