I do not understand why the Bridgewater police would shoot a dog attacking a deer, and then leave it to run off in the woods wounded. Why was animal control not called, or a tranquillizer used? Not only was this inhumane, leaving a wounded animal, but could have been a very dangerous situation, should someone have come across poor dog.
I hope the investigation does continue, into why the police would make a decision like this. Fortunately, and hopefully the dog will remain safe and at home.
