Excitement is building around a special guest at this year’s Pride Parade in Halifax.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted out “see you there”.

South Shore St. Margaret’s MP Bernadette Jordan will be marching alongside the Prime Minister.
She says it’s a great show of support.
“You know, I’m really excited about it. It will be the first time I’ve marched in the Pride parade. As people know LGBTQ rights are something that’s very important to me. So it’s kind of neat to have the sitting Prime Minister actually march in the parade. And it’s the first time, I believe, he’s marched in Halifax.”
She has many reasons for getting behind the Pride efforts.
“I have a gay son. Knowing what he went through growing up and how difficult things were for him, I’ve always been a supporter of making sure that people are treated equally no matter what. But on a bigger scale…it’s people, and what difference does it make?”
Looking forward to joining colleagues @DarrenFisherNS @AndyFillmoreHFX and PM @JustinTrudeau during @HalifaxPride

Jordan will be in Bridgewater Thursday when the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg will hoist the Pride flag.
The same day the Town of Shelburne will also begin flying the colours at noon.
And the Town of Lunenburg will show their support by raising the flag at noon on Friday.
The Town of Bridgewater already raised the Pride Flag at Shipyards Landing last week.
