Cat Ferry On Schedule For Spring Season

Nova Scotia’s transportation minister says the Cat ferry is ready for action.

Problems last summer with its engines caused several delays and cancelled some crossings.

Lloyd Hines says those issues have been resolved over the winter.

“My understanding is that the repairs have been conducted. I’m not sure if they’re at sea trials at this time, but we’re progressing well.”

It’s says advance ticket numbers are very positive.

“Sales are brisk, I’m given to understand in preseason booking. So all systems are go at this point.”

He says Bay Ferries had a plan to make repairs in the off-season.

And they will be ready for the vessel to make its first crossing June 9.
