The South Shore Canadian Tire Mustangs awarded some hardware to players during their May 27th closing banquet. The 2011-2012 recipients are:
- Unsung Hero- Brandon Challoner
- Coach’s award- Jamie Blair
- Rookie Defenseman- Alex Mann
- Rookie Forward- Morgan Messenger
- Forward of the Year: Avery Clarke
- Defenseman of the Year- Brennan Bailey
- Most Valuable Player – Shaun McEachern
The Mustangs also had a few records broken this year. Defenseman Brennan Bailey broke three long-standing records including most points in a season by a defenseman, most career points by a defenseman and most goals by a defenseman. Meanwhile, the sixth annual Mustangs Major Midget Golf Tournament goes this Friday June 8 at 12:30pm at Osprey Ridge Golf Club. Entry fee is $500 for a four-person team.
