The Esso Cup in Bridgewater is attracting interest from some of the best players in the country.
Natalie Spooner is the first of three members of Canada’s Womens hockey team to arrive at the LCLC.
Spooner is very impressed with the level of competition at the Midget Women’s National Championships.
“It’s so close, and it’s so fast and the players are so skilled, so early now. It’s pretty amazing to see, I mean, they’re already at this level and they’re that young.”
She’s says the future of women’s hockey is very bright.
“You look at it even from one Olympics to the next, how much faster the game is getting and how much more skilled the players are getting. I think it’s only going to keep developing and keep getting better.”
Spooner will be joined by team mates Jillian Saulnier and Captain Marie-Philip Poulin tomorrow.
Be sure to listen in tomorrow morning as the three Olympians will be joining us live on air following the news at 8:30am.
