Terrible Road Conditions Prompt Action

There’s a road in Molega Lake North near Elmvale that is in such poor condition, one local resident is reaching out to try and get something done about it.

Local resident, Heather Spidell, points to the deteriorating condition of Falkenham Road, which borders Queens and Lunenburg Counties, close to Elmvale.

Spidell says for those who live there, it’s the only way in and out, and something has to be done to fix it.

“There are a number of people who are seniors, there are a number of children who are back there and we’re really concerned that if something were to happen, that Emergency vehicles wouldn;t be able to get in,” notes Spidell.

The potholes appear to be getting worse according to Spidell, who’s passenger assisted her in filming video of the road and it’s deteriorating condition over the long weekend.

Spidell tells Acadia News it’s been tough to get answers or even a response from government concerning the state of the road and what can be done to fix it; but notes something as to be done for safety’s sake.

“It was virtually impassable this weekend which is why a lot of people said we need to really get someone’s attention,” adds Spidell, who says she has reached out to both MLA’s for Queens and Lunenburg Counties.

So far, Spidell says she has only heard back from Queens-Shelburne MLA, Kim Masland.
